The cardioprotective and anti-cholesterol drug simvastatin, and to a lesser extent atorvastatin, are associated with a reduced incidence of dementia and Parkinson's disease, suggesting that they may also protect against dementia.

The prevalence of urologic conditions among US veterans rose between 1999 and 2002, and analysis of Medicare data suggests that many veterans are seeking urological care from healthcare providers outside the Veterans Health Administration.
